The two-time world champion in badminton will feature in only his second Olympics in Rio. He is considered as the best male badminton player of China currently. His Olympics journey started well in London 2012 where he managed a bronze medal when he was defeated by Lee Chong Wei in the semi-final match.
But the 27-year old two-time All England champion will have a second go a the gold medal when he takes part in Brazil.
The Chinese qualified for the Olympics automatically as he was in the top three in the men’s rankings guaranteeing him a place at Rio 2016. As of the latest rankings declared on June 9, 2016, he occupies the second spot. He will be competing in the men’s singles competition for his country and will have a very good chance to deny his fellow compatriot, Lin Dan, to bag the Olympics gold medal.
