Robert Lewandowski admitted that while he does not have any problem representing Borussia Dortmund, there are issues outside the team management that he finds difficult to deal with.
In an interview with Sky, he said: “When I am on the pitch, I want to play well and score goals. That is the most important thing for me, no matter where I play.”
He added: “I feel fine in the team, but with other people I do have a problem. That is a difficult issue.”
The Polish international, who wanted to leave Dortmund for their rivals’ Bayern Munich this summer, was not granted his wish by the club’s CEO Aki Watzke and sporting director Michael Zorc.
While the 24-year-old’s statement appears to be aimed at the two, Watzke acknowledging the issue, while speaking to Bild, said: “It’s obvious Robert is focused on me, but I need to make decisions for the good of the club. I can accept that Robert bears a small grudge against me.”
