What's the story?
There's trouble brewing in Bavaria, and it appears the sacking of poor ol' Carlo Ancelotti has not solved anything!
In what could be a startling development, European papers are abuzz with rumours of one of the biggest moves in football being in the works, the potential transfer of Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich to Real Madrid!
While the Spanish media, specifically Madrid daily, AS started this by stating that Lewandowski was "obsessed" with a move to Real Madrid, the good folk at popular German daily Bild have fanned the flames by suggesting that the Polish hitman is taking Spanish lessons in order to hit the ground running at Madrid.
This, as per the reports, is preparation for the man who Bayern value at £125 million or €136 million to force through a move to the Champions of Europe
In case you didn't know
Earlier last week, Lewandowski had earned a public rebuke from Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge for his rather forthright interview in Der Spiegel where he slammed the Bavarian's ambitions:
‘Bayern has to come up with something new and creative if the club wants to keep luring world-class players to Munich. And if you want to keep up at the very highest level, you need these players’ quality.’
This, allied with the fact that he went public with his disappointment with his teammates for not helping him win the Golden Boot last year - is not the psyche of a man who is willing to stay too long at his current club.
The heart of the matter
Bild interprets this as Lewandowski learning from the past - he had, of course, stayed a year longer than intended at Dortmund, and had to see Bayern beat BVB in the 2013 Champions League final - and he does not want to repeat that mistake.
Madrid are suffering currently for their lack of a plan B after selling Alvaro Morata and having Karim Benzema out injured, and their failed pursuit of Kylian Mbappe may result in their attentions being turned back to the man who most consider the best orthodox striker on the planet.

Madrid, of course, know just how much damage Lewandowski can cause:
Imagine the destruction he could cause allied with Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale
Author's Take
The earlier AS rumours had reached Lewandowski, who'd rejected it outright saying "I do not have to say anything to nonsense" but the Pole is clearly an unhappy customer and doesn't seem to gel as well with his Bayern teammates as he would like.
He may be just what Real Madrid are looking for!
