Polish star striker Robert Lewandowski is set to remain with German Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund until the end of the 2013/14 season, according to general manager Hans-Joachim Watzke.
Hans-Joachim Watzke told German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung, “Robert (Lewandowski) will definitely be playing for Borussia Dortmund next season. We need this security to be able to plan (for the season).”
Indications over the weekend had been that Dortmund wanted to sell the striker this summer to get a good price in the transfer market, with clubs like Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Real Madrid and others interested in the 24-year-old striker.
But, Lewandowski seems to be adamant that there can only be one transfer destination for him- FC Bayern Munich. He is keen to engineer a move to the Bavarian club, with the striker aiming to play out his contract at Dortmund and join Bayern next season on a free transfer.
