Robin van Persie pulls out of the Dutch squad for friendlies

The Hague - Robin van Persie and Jordy Clasie pulled out of the Dutch squad for the upcoming friendlies against Japan and Colombia.

Manchester United striker Van Persie withdrew due to toe and groin pains. Feyenoord midfielder Clasie suffers from a right foot contusion, reports Xinhua.

Head coach Louis van Gaal called up Norwich City midfielder Leroy Fer and Vitesse midfielder Davy Propper as replacements. The latter debuts in the Dutch squad.

Monday, Fenerbahce forward Dirk Kuyt had already pulled out of the squad due to a hamstring injury. He was replaced by Ajax captain Siem de Jong. Due to injuries Wesley Sneijder (Galatasaray) and goalkeeper Michel Vorm (Swansea City) were left out of the original squad.

The Dutch team will play Japan Nov 16 in Genk, Belgium, and will host Colombia Nov 19 in Amsterdam.
