Brazilian legend Ronaldinho has selected his best XI comprising of British players who have played in the English Premier League over the years.
The list includes six Manchester United players, three players from Chelsea and one each from Liverpool and Manchester City, with Arsenal conspicuously absent.
The 35-year old recently disclosed that he came very close to joining Manchester United in 2003 from Paris Saint-Germain when Barcelona came calling, and he chose the latter over the 20-time English champions.
Here’s the British XI picked by Ronaldinho:
GK: Joe Hart (Manchester City)
The shot-stopper has won two Premier League titles with the Sky Blues and has won the Premier League Golden Glove award four times.
RB: Gary Neville (Manchester United)
The current Valencia manager spent 19 years with United winning eight Premier League titles and two UEFA Champions League trophies.
CB: Rio Ferdinand (Manchester United)
Ferdinand joined United in 2002 from Leeds United and went on to win six Premier League titles and a UEFA Champions League as well.
CB: John Terry (Chelsea)
Terry has been with the London-based club since 1998 and has won four Premier Leagues and a Champions League.
LB: Ashley Cole (Arsenal/Chelsea)
The ex-Arsenal and Chelsea left-back won two Premier Leagues with Arsenal and one with Chelsea. He also won the Champions League with the Blues.
DM: Paul Scholes (Manchester United)
The midfielder spent a total of 20 years with Manchester United, winning a staggering 11 PL titles and two Champions League trophies.
CM: Frank Lampard (Chelsea)
Lampard spent 13 years at Stamford Bridge and won three Premier League titles and a Champions League trophy too.
CM: Steven Gerrard (Liverpool)
Gerrard played for 17 years with Liverpool and won the Champions League in 2005.
RW: David Beckham (Manchester United)
Beckham played for 11 years at Old Trafford, winning six Premier Leagues and a Champions League.
LW: Ryan Giggs (Manchester United)
The current assistant manager at United played for 24 years at Old Trafford and won a record thirteen Premier Leagues and two UEFA Champions League trophies too.
ST: Wayne Rooney (Manchester United)
The United skipper has been with the club from 2004 and has won five Premier Leagues along with a UEFA Champions League.
