Ronaldinho and Mexican club Queretaro have parted ways after the Brazilian’s contract was terminated by the Liga MX club. The club released a press release which broke the news about the 35-year-old’s departure.
The player had signed a two year contract with the Mexican club but bids farewell after only nine months with the club. The Brazilian’s departure looked all but certain after Queretaro’s defeat to Santos Laguna in the Liga MX Clausura about a fortnight ago.
Coach Victor Manuel Vucetich had conceded that the former Barcelona man was no longer in his plans. The midfielder took to social media to bid his farewell from the club and confirm his departure.
"I want to thank all the Mexican nation of heart for all the days that I have lived with people so special, you will be forever in my heart!!!," Ronaldinho wrote on his Facebook page.
"To my fellow members of team, without distinction no, my thank you very much for every day of work, every moment, every laugh, our conversations in the hotel, I learned a lot in this stay,” he added.
"In July I will be in Mexico and I promise to say goodbye personally!!!! Thank you Queretaro F.C.! Thank you Mexico!
During his time at the club, Ronaldinho scored eight goals from 25 appearances after he had arrived from Brazilian club Atletico Mineiro. It looks like the midfielder is not in a hurry to decide his future as he intends on taking a holiday and weigh up his options amidst interest from Turkey.
"Now I am going to take advantage of the holidays to rest and think about the future!!! Obrigadoooooooo"
