A new video released by Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo sees him sign two hundred and thirty five football related merchandise in a span of 10 minutes. OMAZE, a private firm based in California which raises funds for non-profit organizations through online auctions, challenged the Real Madrid attacker to put his autograph across at least 200 items in a span of 600 seconds.
The merchandise signing is for a good cause obviously, with Ronaldo’s aim being to raise money for Artists for Peace and Justice. The video has seen the Los Blancos man advocate the charitable cause and he has urged his supporters to enter the competition organized by OMAZE in a bid to win merchandise signed by the Portuguese superstar. One extremely lucky winner will also get the unique opportunity to witness the EL Clasico on 21st November, 2015 as Ronaldo’s VIP guest.
The winner of the competition will meet Cristiano for a pre-match meal, sign autographs alongside the Portuguese captain, help him decide which haircut to choose and, of course, have the opportunity to see him play live against Barcelona in the El Clasico. If all this is not enough already, he or she will also get flown out to Madrid and put up in a 4-star hotel free of cost.
The competition requires the participants to donate a minimum of $10 to Artists for Peace and Justice, for the development of a school, and for every $100 raised, a year of sports practice can be arranged for the education of Haitian children. Ranging from limited edition t-shirts for $100 to signed footballs and shoes for $20,000 and $10,000, there are a host of prizes to be won.
The initiative has received support from celebrities like Bill Clinton, Lady Gaga, Robert Downey Jr and Daniel Craig. The competition will run for 12 more days, so be sure to check out the OMAZE site to know more about the competition and stand a chance to witness what many football fans only dream of.
