The Argentine captain plays for the Spanish giant, Barcelona and has won 30 trophies with the club, including eight La Liga titles, four UEFA Champions League titles, and five Copas del Rey.
Messi holds the record of scoring most goals in the La Liga (374) along with being the all-time of Barcelona. He is considered one of two best players in the world right now alongside his career rival, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Messi announced his retirement in 2016 after Argentina's defeat in Copa America against Chile but, his fans were against his decision and he had to return. He successfully led his national team to qualification for the FIFA World Cup 2018.
He has won the joint-most (five) Ballon d'Or awards alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and is also all-time his country.
