2012/13: Real Madrid vs Barcelona (Spanish Super Cup)
Ronaldo’s most important goal of 2012/13 came at the very start of a disappointing season. Real Madrid hosted Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup’s second leg fixture. Jose Mourinho’s troops were hoping to turn around a 3-2 deficit. Just eleven minutes in, Gonzalo Higuain scored to put Madrid 1-0 up. Eight minutes later, Ronaldo flicked the ball over Gerard Pique with lovely technique. He then unleashed a powerful shot which was too fast for Valdes to stop.
Madrid won 2-1 on that night and won the Super Cup on the away goals rule with a 4-4 aggregate score.
