Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo gesticulated after the Santiago Bernabeu faithful whistled at him during the second half of Real Madrid ‘s 2-2 draw with Borussia Dortmund. Ronaldo lost possession late in the second half which instigated jeers from the home fans and the Real Madrid number seven didn’t hold back as he put his fingers to his lips and asked the fans to calm down.
The incident happened in the 79th minute as Ronaldo’s attempt to skip past the Dortmund players didn’t come off and he ended up losing the ball in his own half. However, he put in a crunching tackle to prevent a Dortmund counter-attack.
A section of the home crowd was unhappy with Ronaldo losing possession cheaply and started jeering the 31-year-old. Ronaldo was visibly frustrated with this and he confronted the Madrid fans asking them to calm down.

The Portuguese skipper is enduring an uncharacteristic dip in form in Europe this season as he has scored just 2 goals in the group stage. He failed to get on the score sheet against Dortmund and the taunting jeers from the Bernabeu crowd made the night even worse for the 31-year-old.
The behaviour of the Real Madrid fans was presumptuous, to say the least, as the draw against BVB extended the Los Blancos’ unbeaten run to 34 are they are atop the La Liga table, 6 points clear of arch-rivals Barcelona. Zinedine Zidane’s side have not tasted defeat since last April and are all set to eclipse the club record for the longest unbeaten run.
Real Madrid’s clash with Dortmund was an entertaining contest and Karim Benzema’s brace fired the hosts into a 2-0 lead. However, Real Madrid’s inefficiency to kill off the game was punished as goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Marco Reus helped the German club secure a point.

Even though the 2-2 draw with Dortmund meant that the reigning European champions could only manage a second-place finish in their group, that might prove to be a blessing in disguise in the UEFA Champions league round of 16 draw set to take place on Monday.
Zinedine Zidane’s side have avoided the possibility of facing Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain in the pre-quarter stage of the competition and they will play one of Arsenal, Juventus, Leicester City, AS Monaco or Napoli.
Real Madrid next take on Deportivo La Coruna in the La Liga before flying to Japan to compete in the FIFA Club World Cup.
