Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney is left extremely furious over the comments made by new United boss David Moyes earlier this week.
Moyes seemed to suggest that Wayne Rooney is only viewed as the second choice striker by him behind Robin Van Persie. Understandably, this has not gone well with the England international who returned home early, due to hamstring injury, from the club’s pre season tour.
There are rumours around that indicate Rooney is now demanding for a transfer out of the club.
A source close to him said: “Wayne was left confused and angry by reports in the media over the last few days regarding his status at United.
“As far as Wayne is concerned, he is at the peak of his career and he has no intention of letting that career go backwards by becoming a squad or back-up player.
“He doesn’t feel he has anything to prove after nine seasons at Old Trafford yet this is what seems to have been suggested, meaning he is on trial for the coming season.
“Since he returned from the tour, Wayne has communicated with the club and made his feelings known on these matters.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has added fuel to the fire saying: “If Wayne is a second choice for United, then the national team will be affected.”
