Following the painful loss of the title to Manchester City at the end of last season, many Reds alike are raring to start pre-season and begin the attempt to win the title back. Even with the European Championships, this summer has dragged on but fortunately we’re under two weeks away from seeing United again. Having been through the pain of last season, Wayne Rooney feels that there’s hard work ahead but that United will pull through in the end.
“Just look at all the young players in the squad: they’ve played a lot of games, had a lot of ups and downs and most of them are already getting selected now for their national teams,” said Rooney. “That’s all going to help them. The next two or three years will be a big test for them and I’m sure we’ll all pull through it.”
Next season is certainly going to be tight, and assuming we strengthen in the correct areas and avoid another injury crisis, we’ll certainly be in with a great chance of bringing the title back.
