Roy Hodgson Pleased With Win

Eng­land man­ager Roy Hodg­son has noth­ing but praise for his play­ers fol­low­ing the hard fought and well earned 1–0 tri­umph over Ukraine at the Olympic Sta­dium in Kiev on Tues­day. After over­com­ing the Ukrain­i­ans, The Three Lions pre­pare to lock horns with Cesare Prandelli´s Italy in the European Cham­pi­on­ships Quarter Finals.

Roy Hodg­son: “Whatever level you are play­ing, if you don’t have cour­age, strength and dis­cip­line, you won’t go very far. It’s not what you say to play­ers, it’s how you go about your busi­ness with them on a daily basis. The busi­ness of train­ing and pre­par­ing for matches. It doesn’t mat­ter how much suc­cess you’ve had, you have to keep prov­ing it day in, day out. John Terry was excel­lent against Ukraine. He and Joleon Lescott were very good. In fact the whole of the back four were very good. Of course we are blessed as if any­thing does slip through, we also have a top class goal­keeper in Joe Hart.
