AC Milan are eyeing a move for Randal Kolo Muani, who also has admirers at Manchester United, according to TuttoSport (via PSG Talk). The French forward has struggled to convince Luis Enrique and is a peripheral figure at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
Kolo Muani arrived at the Parc des Princes in the summer of 2023 from Eintracht Frankfurt in a reported £76m deal. However, he has failed to live up to expectations with the Ligue 1 champions.
Last season, the 26-year-old registered 12 goals and six assists from 44 games across competitions. This year, he has found the back of the net just twice in 14 games, only two of which have been starts.
Despite his struggles, Kolo Muani's stock remains high. Manchester United are apparently eyeing the player with interest as they look to reinforce their attack.
The Red Devils have struggled under new head coach Ruben Amorim, who took charge last November. Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have been a disappointment, while Marcus Rashford remains linked with an exit.
The situation has forced the Premier League giants to turn to the market, and they have identified Kolo Muani as an option. However, Manchester United will face competition from Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, and Arsenal in the race, while AC Milan have now joined the party.
The report adds that the Rossoneri would ideally like to sign Barcelona's Dani Olmo, but can only afford a loan deal if the Catalans cover part of his salary. The Serie A giants have now zeroed in on Kolo Muani as an alternative and PSG will apparently let him go for €50m.
How many goals have Manchester United scored under Ruben Amorim?
Manchester United roped in Ruben Amorim as Erik ten Hag's replacement in November last year. The Portuguese's efforts to implement his 3-4-3 system at Old Trafford, however, haven't been fruitful so far.
The Red Devils have struggled to cope with the demands of the new formation, while many believe that the squad is not suited to the shape change. The Premier League giants have lost six of their 11 games under Amorim, winning just four.
They have scored 17 goals under the Portuguese, conceding 21 so far. Interestingly, Manchester United have failed to score in their last three games in the Premier League, all of which have ended in defeats, and are 14th in the league. They travel to Anfield on Sunday, January 5, to face league leaders Liverpool in the Premier League.
