Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Bayern Munich forward Kingsley Coman this summer. The Bavarians are open to letting him go on a loan plus buy obligation deal.

Coman joined Bayern Munich from Juventus in 2015 and has made 294 appearances for them, contributing 63 goals and 66 assists. He initially joined on a two-year loan before moving permanently in 2017. As per Football Insider, the German giants are open to letting Coman leave this summer.

Bayern are primarily looking to sell the Frenchman but would also be open to a loan plus obligation to buy. Arsenal have shown their interest in signing the winger this summer. They are looking to strengthen their side after missing out on the Premier League title two years in a row.

However, Coman would need assurances about getting regular playing time. He made just 27 appearances across competitions for Bayern last season, starting 21 of them. He scored five goals and provided three assists in that time.

Coman previously played for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) before joining Juventus in 2014. In his senior career, the Frenchman has won the league title in every season except the last season. Hence, as per the aforementioned report, his winning mentality is also an attraction for Arsenal.

The winger has also been offered to Barcelona, with Bayern looking for €50 million for a potential transfer.

Mikel Arteta pleased with Arsenal's pre-season after Lyon win

The Gunners ended their pre-season this summer with a 2-0 win over Olympique Lyon at the Emirates on Sunday, August 11. Centre-backs William Saliba (9') and Gabriel Magalhaes (27') scored against the French side.

After the game, manager Mikel Arteta shared his thoughts on the game and the pre-season, saying (via Arsenal.com):

"A really good test today, again. I think overall it's been a really positive pre-season with the tour and the club and a lot of people put a lot of effort into making it work. I think it was a success again and then the two games that we have played here as well, really competitive and really good.
"I think the team was exceptional, especially in the first half. There were moments where we played at the highest level and then we sort of maintained it. We dropped a little bit in the second half. The conditions were tough, but it was a good match for us as well. So overall, very pleased."

Arsenal had five pre-season friendlies this summer and won four of them while losing 2-1 against Liverpool. They will now begin their 2024-25 campaign at home against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, August 17.
