Arsenal have held initial talks with Wolverhampton Wanderers regarding Matheus Cunha's potential signing, according to a report by Caught Offside. The Brazilian was previously linked with a move to Manchester United but it seems like the Gunners are currently leading the race.
As per the aforementioned report, Cunha's impressive display in recent months has put him on the radar of several European clubs. This season, Cunha has been brilliant in front of goal, scoring seven goals and registering three assists in 14 games for Wolves.
Arselan's interest in signing him could be tied to Mikel Arteta's quest to add some degree of firepower in attack. As a striker in the Premier League, Cunha has proven to be decent in recent months.
If signed, Cunha's versatility to feature in multiple attacking positions could stand to be beneficial for the Gunners. His signing would also enhance the level of competition in the center-forward position. This means that Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus would have to improve if they intend to feature regularly in the starting XI.
However, Wolves are unwilling to sell the 25-year-old and they are reportedly set to offer him a new contract. Matheus Cunha is contracted at Molineux till June 2027, meaning his potential move might not come cheap.
Arsenal interested in signing Randal Kolo Muani on loan from Paris Saint-Germain in January 2025 - Reports
The Gunners are looking to sign Randal Kolo Muani on loan from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the upcoming January transfer window, according to Caught Offside. Since joining PSG from Eintracht Frankfurt reportedly for €95 million in September 2023, the Frenchman has struggled in attack.
In 53 appearances for PSG, Kolo Muani has scored 11 goals in registered seven assists. This season, he has scored only two goals and registered one assist in 13 games for the Ligue 1 giants.
Despite his poor start to the campaign, the Gunners are looking to sign him on loan. This could be tied to the Gunners' shortage of options in the centre-forward position. His signing could also give the Gunners a breather as they continue to search for their ideal striker.
Arsenal will have to defeat the likes of Manchester United and Newcastle United who are also in the race to sign Kolo Muani.
