Arsenal have reportedly held transfer talks with 25-year-old Crystal Palace defender Tyrick Mitchell who's also on Barcelona's radar. The left-back's current contract with the Eagles ends in June 2025.

Tyrick Mitchell is a product of Crystal Palace's academy and made his senior team debut for the side in July 2020. He has made 167 appearances for the Eagles' senior side so far, becoming a regular in their starting XI. The England international has helped maintain 37 clean sheets in overall 151 Premier League appearances in his career.

According to CaughtOffside (h/t Football Fancast), Arsenal have held talks with Tyrick Mitchell over a potential move to the Emirates this summer. The Englishman will enter the final six months of his contract next month and will be free to negotiate with interested parties starting January 1. He could be an affordable option for Arsenal to strengthen their backline.

The Gunners have been suffering from multiple injury woes this season, leading to them hunting the market in search of a new left-back. Kieran Tierney's contract is set to expire at the end of this season and he's been linked to an exit to return to Celtic. Meanwhile, Oleksandr Zinchenko, who's currently sidelined due to an injury, could also reportedly leave the club due to lack of game time.

The Gunners' remaining options for the left-back position include Riccardo Calafiori and Jurrien Timber, both of whom are versatile and can play across the backline. Therefore, the potential signing of Tyrick Mitchell could still allow all of them to get sufficient game time.

Meanwhile, Mitchell is reportedly also on the radar of other European giants, including Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur. Barcelona are interested in signing Mitchell as a low-cost option with only Alejandro Balde and Gerard Martin as their left-back options.

The Catalans lack a strong backup option for their regular starter Balde and could benefit from signing another versatile left-back, especially as a free agent.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are planning to sign Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey when he becomes a free agent in the summer of 2025. Since the departure of Sergio Busquets in 2023, the Catalan giants have been hunting the market for a strong pivot.

Despite his usual injury woes, Thomas Partey has been a regular for Arsenal this season, contributing a couple of goals and assists each in 25 outings across competitions. The 31-year-old has not been offered a contract renewal, making him a viable option for Barcelona to sign for free.

La Blaugrana's complicated economic situation is well documented and they must make use of available free agents to strengthen their squad. They only have academy graduate Marc Casado covering the defensive midfielder position this summer owing to Marc Bernal's long-term injury.

Therefore, Partey's signing could be a great deal for the Catalans, especially with Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong also on the cards.
