Arsenal are monitoring Kingsley Coman's situation at Bayern Munich as they are interested in strengthening their frontline, according to former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown.
Coman, 28, has established himself as a key squad member for Bayern Munich since initially arriving from Juventus on loan in 2015. However, he has dropped down in his team's pecking order since Vincent Kompany's arrival at his club.
So far this season, the 58-cap France international has started nine of his 20 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga side. He has found the back of the net four times and laid out two assists in 915 minutes of first-team action.
Speaking to Football Insider, Brown offered insight into the former Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Juventus winger's future. He elaborated:
"Kingsley Coman has always been a very tidy player. I must admit I've not watched him in a while, but if he's anything like the player he used to be, it doesn't surprise me to hear Arsenal have been looking at him. I'm told they've had scouts in Germany keeping tabs on him and they'll know what his level is."
Explaining why the Gunners are keen to sign Coman, Brown continued:
"There's always been plenty of interest there from Premier League clubs because he's got a very good reputation within the game. He's got great experience, ability and know-how, so somebody like him would be ideal for Arsenal."
Sharing more thoughts on the pacy wide operator, Brown concluded:
"He's won countless trophies, and that's maybe something Arsenal have lacked in their squad, players that have experience lifting league titles wherever they've been. So, I'd expect they will be interested and could make a move if they feel he is the right man."
Arsenal set to offer new contract to 30-year-old
According to the Daily Express, Arsenal are set to offer Leandro Trossard a new contract after the end of the ongoing January transfer window. They have scheduled a meeting to discuss the terms of the potential new deal next month.
Trossard, 30, is reportedly unwilling to end his stint at Mikel Arteta's side despite interest from a number of Saudi Pro League teams. He is keen to continue as a crucial squad member for the north London outfit in the upcoming seasons.
Since arriving in a potential £27 million switch in January 2023, Trossard has made 96 overall appearances for the Gunners. The versatile Belgian forward has netted 22 goals and laid out 15 assists for his club, playing mainly as a winger.
