Arsenal have taken the first steps to try to sign Real Madrid youngster Arda Guler. The talented teenager has been struggling for game time at the Santiago Bernabeu. Multiple inquiries have been directed at manager Carlo Ancelotti over Guler's minutes at the Spanish side.

Turkish sensation Guler joined Real Madrid at the expense of several other European sides, with Los Blancos reportedly paying Fenerbahce an initial £17 million for his signature. The 19-year-old has struggled to break into the manager's preferred XI at the club despite his obvious quality and talent, leading to interest from elsewhere.

Reports in Spain have linked the youngster with a move to Arsenal, as the Premier League is the one that appeals to him. He is unhappy with his situation in Madrid and could pursue a move away from the club if his situation does not improve by January, as per SPORT.

Since moving to Real Madrid at the start of the 2023-24 season, Arda Guler has played more minutes in a Turkiye shirt than he has in a Real one, indicating the disparity in his game time. The young midfielder has appeared 12 times for his club this season, playing a total of 307 minutes across all competitions.

Arsenal have done business with Real Madrid on a number of occasions in recent memory, including signing both Dani Ceballos and Martin Odegaard on loan at separate times.

The Gunners signed Odegaard permanently from the Spanish giants after he failed to find a place at the club. They could look to repeat the trick with Guler, who is a similar type of player to the Norwegian midfielder and could be his long-term replacement at the Emirates.

Arsenal turn down Real Madrid offer for star defender - Reports

Arsenal have made their stance clear in rejecting an offer from Real Madrid for their defender William Saliba, as per Football Insider. Arsenal are unwilling to entertain any offers for the France international and have made this much known to Los Blancos.

Real Madrid find themselves in desperate need of defensive cover, and having missed out on signing Leny Yoro in the summer, are looking at a slightly older Frenchman. Their pursuit of Saliba is not without competition, as French giants PSG also view him as the long-term replacement for Marquinhos.

Carlo Ancelotti's side have only two fit senior centre-backs and no right-backs at present, leaving them in an unbalanced state. Their failed attempt at signing Saliba will leave them needing to turn to alternative targets in the January transfer window.
