Manchester United and Arsenal target Leroy Sane could reportedly be available on a free transfer next summer. As reported by Sky Sports, the former Manchester City star's contract negotiation with Bayern Munich has stalled.
Sane's current deal at the Allianz Arena expires in the summer of 2025 and the Germany international could be on his way out on a free. While Bayern Munich are reportedly looking to extend Sane's deal, they want him to agree a deal with lower wages.
As reported by Sky Sports, the Bavarian giants want Sane to sign a new deal that would be heavily performance-related. However, the former Manchester City star is yet to agree to their conditions.
It has been claimed that Bayern Munich will make their final decision on Sane by March at the latest. This means clubs outside Germany will be allowed to offer the 28-year-old a pre-contract ahead of a free transfer in the summer.
However, Sane has reportedly ruled out the possibility of an exit from Bayern Munich in January. The fleet-footed winger has been linked with clubs like Arsenal and Manchester United in recent months.
He was on the books of Manchester City between 2016 and 2020, winning eight trophies including two Premier League titles. He scored 39 times and provided 43 assists in 135 appearances for the Cityzens.
Sane joined Bayern Munich in 2020 and has registered 51 goals and 50 assists in 190 games across competitions for the Bavarian giants. He has started just five games this season while coming on from the bench on 10 occasions and has scored thrice.
Rio Ferdinand would love to have Arsenal superstar at Manchester United
Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has acknowledged that he would love to have Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka at Old Trafford. Saka has been one of the best players in the Premier League this season and helped his side beat the Red Devils 2-0 in the midweek.
While Saka did not score or assist against Ruben Amorim's side, Ferdinand was still pretty impressed with the England international. He insisted that he would love to have the 23-year-old at Manchester United.
The pundit was quoted as saying by TBR Football:
“I have to jump in there, Saka has been a joke this season, he’s been a joke, he’s outstanding. He was quiet against us, but if Saka is quiet in the game Malacia must have done well. Saka, his game is evolving every single time you see him. Every year, every week, every month, every year."
"Last year I was saying he’s a bit one-dimensional always going inside the pitch, against us two of his best moments were outside on his right foot creating havoc. I’d love to have a player like that at Man United, I’d go as far as to say that,” Ferdinand added.
Saka has found the back of the net on seven occasions this season while providing 11 assists in 19 appearances across competitions. He has made 245 appearances for Arsenal, bagging 65 goals and 61 assists.
