Arsenal will reportedly look to tie down star defender Gabriel Magalhaes to a new long-term deal amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). As per reports from TBR Football, the Gunners will look to renew the Brazilian's deal after doing so for several key players in the recent past.
The report mentions how Arsenal moved quickly to renew the deals of Benjamin White, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Jorginho earlier this year. While White's deal was slightly longer given his status as a regular in the starting XI, Tomiyasu and Jorginho's extensions were shorter depending on their individual situations.
Now, Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar will look to tie down yet another key player in the project to a longer deal. This comes in the wake of Gabriel's Player of the Match performance against arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur as he scored the only goal in a 1-0 win at the latter's stadium.
This marks his second PoTM performance at Spurs' ground in as many seasons, after doing the same last time around. Gabriel has now made 172 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 16 goals and also providing one assist during that time. He has been a crucial component in the club's rebuild since joining in 2020 and the Gunners are now looking to reward him for his commitment.
Currently on a deal until 2027, Arsenal will take no chances amid interest from a free-spending club like PSG and will look to extend Gabriel's deal as soon as possible.
