According to Caught Offside, Arsenal are willing to offer €65 million to sign Joao Pedro from Brighton and Hove Albion. Pedro has been a subject of interest by several Premier League clubs in recent months.
It's no surprise that Mikel Arteta is presently looking to enhance his attack as the Gunners have struggled without a target man lately.
Pedro has now emerged as one of the options that Arsenal are looking to sign. As a striker this season, the Brazilian has four goals and three assists in nine games for Brighton.
The Gunners' interest in Pedro could also be linked to his versatility, given his ability to feature in multiple attacking positions.
Pedro could also fit into Arteta's playing style. However, the aforementioned report states that Brighton have set a transfer fee of around €70 million for Pedro.
The 23-year-old is contracted at Brighton till June 2028. The Gunners will also have to defeat the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea who are said to be interested in signing Pedro.
Gabriel Jesus will remain at Arsenal despite recent rumors linking him with a move to Brazil
Rumors concerning Gabriel Jesus's exit have emerged in recent months as the player has been linked with a move to Brazil. However, Arsenal's manager has debunked these rumors.
Arteta provided this update in a press conference when asked about Jesus’ exit rumors. He said (via Fabrizio Romano):
"Reports of Gabriel Jesus leaving and going to Brazil in January are nonsense, like all strikers they go through phases and moments. His attitude has been really good. It always is. We’re going to support him as much as possible."
This season, Jesus has struggled in attack as has only scored one goal in 20 appearances for the Gunners.
