According to Brazilian outlet Trivela, Arsenal are set to rival London rivals Fulham for the signature of 19-year-old Breno Bidon. The Brazilian prodigy currently plies this trade at Corinthians. He is a product of the club's academy and was recently promoted to the senior team.
The Gunners were quite busy in the summer transfer window and they continued to be linked to a plethora of players. They have been severely affected by injuries to their key players of late and are keen to make reinforcements. They reportedly view Breno Bidon as a player with important characteristics to develop the squad.
Fulham, on the other hand, sees Bidon as playing a more crucial role in midfield, providing more opportunities for games. The Cottagers see him as a replacement for the potential departure of midfielder Andreas Pereira.
As per the abovementioned source, two other unnamed Premier League teams are interested in Breno Bidon apart from Arsenal and Fulham.
While Bidon's current market value is €8 million as per Transfermarkt, Corinthians will not sell him cheap as he has a release clause worth €100 million in his contract.
Even if they don’t end up selling him for that amount, he will likely command a huge fee amid his links to the Emirates and Craven Cottage. His contract with Corinthians will expire in 2028, as he signed a contract extension in March 2024.
Arsenal are preparing January move for €70 million-rated Juventus star - Reports
Arsenal are set to intensify their pursuit of Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic ahead of the January transfer window. Last month, it was reported that the Gunners were interested in acquiring the services of the Serbia international.
While Arsenal have gone from strength to strength in recent seasons, they sometimes find it difficult to cap off their beautiful football by putting the ball at the back of the net. Mikel Arteta had previously said he is confident in Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus. However, that faith seems to be waning.
According to Caught Offside, Mikel Arteta considers Dusan Vlahovic as the perfect striker for Arsenal to help improve the way the team are playing currently. The Gunners currently do not have a consistent out-and-out striker and a player like Vlahovic could help further push their title charge.
The Gunners are currently six points behind league leaders Liverpool, who have a game in hand. Arteta remains optimistic that a prolific striker could elevate his side’s chances of competing for top honors.
