Arsenal are preparing an offer to sign 24-year-old Galatasaray winger Baris Alper Yilmaz, according to reports. The Gunners are willing to pay £17 million to secure his services.

Mikel Arteta's side have made three signings so far this summer as they prepare to challenge for the Premier League title again during the 2024-25 campaign. The Gunners came close to ending their 20-year drought last season. However, they finished two points behind Manchester City and failed to do so.

After an excellent loan spell at the Emirates last term, the Gunners have signed David Raya on a permanent deal from Brentford. The Gunners reportedly paid a £27 million transfer fee to secure his services. The north Londoners have also signed Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori for £42 million and 18-year-old Ajax goalkeeper Tommy Setford.

The club are yet to reinforce their options in attack and reports over the summer have suggested that Mikel Arteta is keen on bringing in a striker. The Gunners have been linked with Victor Osimhen, Julian Alvarez, and Viktor Gyokeres.

The Gunners were interested in Baris Alper Yilmaz earlier in the window and are now willing to act on it, according to Turkish outlet Sok Gazetesi (via TBR Football). The north Londoners have held discussions with the player's agent which are believed to have been positive.

The report claims that the Gunners are close to proposing a deal worth £17 million to sign Yilmaz, who has been likened to Tottenham Hotspur legend Gareth Bale in Turkey.

Pundit names Premier League star he 'would have over' Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli

Pundit Darren Ambrose has boldly claimed that he would prefer Crystal Palace ace Eberechi Eze over Gabriel Martinelli.

Eze was in great form for the Eagles last season, scoring 11 goals and providing six assists in 31 appearances across all competitions. His exploits in the Premier League last term have led to interest from Arsenal and Manchester City.

While Eze's contract with Palace runs until 2027, there is a reported release clause worth £60 million. Should the Gunners choose to trigger it this summer and bring him to the Emirates, Ambrose believes Eze would start over Martinelli.

Ambrose said:

“Arsenal would be difficult, I think, with Martinelli and Saka and Odegaard. I think that would be difficult. If we are looking at Eze playing in one of those forward three, I think Arsenal fans may differ (about Eze starting ahead of Martinelli) in that option. They have got this love-in with Martinelli and rightly so. For me, yes, I would have him over Martinelli, not sure Arsenal supporters would.”
