Arsenal defender William Saliba is reportedly attracting interest from European giants such as Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), and Bayern Munich. The centre-back has quickly become one of the best players in the world in his position, having helped the Gunners find their way back to the zenith of English football.
The Gunners have finished second in the Premier League twice in a row. They have also become favorites to go the length in the Champions League and other cup competitions. With Saliba still only 23 years old, he is yet to enter his full prime, and Arsenal will have no intentions of losing him.
Last season, he played every single game in the Premier League, while totaling 50 appearances across all competitions. He has started strongly this season, playing in all three of Arsenal’s opening fixtures and helping them keep two clean sheets.
According to a report from Caught Offside, it would require any interested club to pay a massive fee for Arsenal to even consider letting Saliba go. Real Madrid and other major clubs may need to part with upwards of €120 million if they hope to sign the Frenchman.
It is worth noting that Saliba's contract with the Gunners runs until 2027, making it fairly easy for them to quote their price. They will likely consider him unsellable as they continue to strengthen their squad in their bid to overtake Manchester City in the race for the Premier League title. Losing Saliba would simply hinder those chances.
On the other hand, Real Madrid are looking to improve their backline and make defensive reinforcements with young superstars like Saliba. Paris Saint-Germain also have the financial muscle to make a move for him, and his French nationality will make him a catch for the Parisian giants.
Fabrizio Romano provides update on Real Madrid midfielder who is on Arsenal's radar
Real Madrid might be interested in Arsenal's Saliba, but the Gunners also have their sights set on Aurelien Tchouameni, who plays for the Spanish giants. They reportedly see the young French midfielder as an elite option for the middle of the park at the Emirates Stadium.
It is believed that Tchouameni is not unsellable, with Real Madrid inclined to let him go if a good offer come their way. If the 24-year-old wants to leave the Santiago Bernabeu, the Spanish giants would also accept his exit. However, according to Fabrizio Romano (via JustArsenal), Tchouameni has no intention of leaving.
The Italian journalist further revealed that the club were pleased with the versatile midfielder's ability to deputize in central defense last season. Currently, the "situation is perfect between the club and player", which will not be good news for the Gunners.
