Barcelona dressing room's stance on Dani Olmo situation amid registration uncertainty comes to light: Reports

Barcelona's dressing room reportedly stands firmly with Dani Olmo after the player, along with Pau Victor, was not registered by La Liga upon the expiration of the deadline. Both players could now miss out on the second half of their 2024-25 campaign.

The Spanish top-flight went as far as removing their names from their official websites, and now, even the RFEF, the governing body of football in Spain, has come out in support of their decision. They have refused to grant Barcelona the registration license for both the players.

It's a massive blow for the club, which, although it remains hopeful of sorting out the case before January 3.

But the mood inside the Barcelona locker room is upbeat - the players are firmly behind Olmo, reported Spanish news outlet Marca.

To celebrate the turn of 2025, Olmo posted on Instagram, "It's 2025 time," accompanied by pictures of him, his friends, and his family. The post has garnered massive reactions online, including from his teammates.

The first one to respond was Lamine Yamal, who left a comment that vehemently said, "Dani Olmo is a culer", affirming his support for the forward. It grossed over 30,000 likes too.

Another player who chimed in was Inigo Martinez, who albeit posted a more cryptic message with several emojis of a clock, refererring to the timing of the situation. Interestingly, it gained reaction from former Barcelona stars such as Andres Iniesta and Sergi Roberto.


Barcelona return to action on Saturday

Following a small winter break, a struggling Barcelona return to action on Saturday to face Barbastros in the round of 32 of the Copa Del Rey. Hansi Flick is likely to field a weakened side, with one eye on the Spanish Supercup campaign in Saudi Arabia.

Just four days after their cup game, the Catalans will be in action at Riyadh against Athletic Bilbao in the semi-finals, with the winner taking on either Real Madrid or Mallorca in the showpiece encounter.

After seeing their La Liga title charge taper off in recent weeks, Barcelona is looking for some respite in cup games. However, they must first overcome the Olmo-Victor blow.
