Barcelona would demand at least €45 to €50 million for the possible sale of Ronald Araujo, according to journalist Jordi Carne Sempere (via Reshad Rahman). The Uruguayan defender has been linked with a move to Juventus.
Araujo joined Barcelona Atletic from Boston Rivers for a reported €4.70 million in August 2018. Having proven himself in defense, the Uruguayan was subsequently promoted to Barca's first team in October 2020. He is known to be an intuitive defender and his ball-winning proficiency has been excellent in recent years. In 151 appearances, he has scored eight goals and registered six assists for La Blaugrana.
However, Araujo has registered only one appearance this season. He recently returned from a hamstring injury that kept him on the sidelines for several months. The Uruguayan featured for 90 minutes in defense in Barca's 4-0 Copa del Rey Round of 32 win over Barbastro on January 4.
Due to his persistent fitness concerns, La Blaugrana are reportedly looking to sell him. Having been linked with a move to Juventus, Araujo could enhance the Old Lady's defense due to his versatility. He is contracted at the Camp Nou till June 2026. His possible sale could reduce Barca's wage bill and financial burden.
