Barcelona have set their sights on Crystal Palace left-back Tyrick Mitchell, according to Spanish outlet SPORT. The Catalan side are looking for a new left-back to provide cover for and compete with Alejandro Balde.
The Spaniard has been in fine form this season, registering four assists from 22 games, 19 of which have been starts. However, his backup Gerard Martin has failed to impress and the LaLiga giants remain keen to address the position in 2025.
Barcelona have also been linked with a move for Bayern Munich's Alphonso Davies, whose contract expires in just over six months. The Catalan giants and Real Madrid are reportedly hot on the Canadian's heels, and are plotting a Bosman move next summer.
However, recent reports have suggested that the Bavarians are still trying to tie him down to a new deal. Meanwhile, Los Blancos are said to be the frontrunners in the race for the 24-year-old.
The situation has prompted Barcelona to scout the market for alternatives and Mitchell has popped up on their radar. The Englishman has caught the eye with Crystal Palace this season, registering three assists from 21 games.
Interestingly, the 25-year-old's contract with the Eagles runs out at the end of this campaign, which makes him an attractive option for the Catalan side. However, the player is also wanted by Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, who can offer him better wages than the LaLiga giants.
Are Barcelona eyeing a Manchester United forward?
Recent reports from TEAMtalk have suggested that Barcelona have their eyes set on Manchester United outcast Marcus Rashford. The English forward has fallen out of favour under Ruben Amorim, who took charge of the Red Devils last month.
Rashford wasn't included in the matchday squad for Manchester United's last three games, adding to speculation regarding his future. It has been reported that the Premier League giants are willing to listen to offers for their academy graduate.
The Catalan side are keeping a close eye on developments and are planning to prise Rashford away. The LaLiga giants are reportedly ready to offer Ansu Fati in exchange for the 27-year-old.
Hansi Flick has reportedly given the go-ahead to Barcelona to script the move. Fati is a peripheral figure at Camp Nou at the moment and is no longer part of the German manager's plans. While Manchester United have had their eyes on Fati for a while, they may no longer be interested in a move owing to the Spaniard's recent injury woes.
