Barcelona's sporting director Deco has identified Liverpool's Luis Diaz and Sporting CP's Viktor Gyokeres as their summer transfer targets, according to a report by Fichajes.net. Diaz joined Liverpool from FC Porto for a reported €52 million in January 2022.
The Colombian forward has proven to be key on the left wing for the Reds in recent times. In 26 appearances, Diaz has scored 12 goals and provided three assists this season.
La Blaugrana's interest in Diaz could be tied to the uncertainty of Raphinha's future at Camp Nou. The 27-year-old’s attacking prowess and flexibility to feature in multiple attacking positions could strengthen Barca's attacking outlook if the deal materializes. Fichajes.net claims that Diaz' transfer fee could be in the region of €60 million and he's contracted at Anfield till June 2027.
Meanwhile, La Blaugrana are also interested in the in-form Gyokeres whose finishing proficiency has been exceptional this season. In 29 games, the Swede has scored 31 goals and registered six assists.
Gyokeres’ finishing proficiency and attacking intuition could help Barca in achieving their long-term objectives if the deal goes through. The report mentioned earlier also claims that Gyokeres’ transfer fee could be €75 million.
However, Barcelona would have to defeat the likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid in the race to sign Gyokeres. The 26-year-old is contracted at Sporting CP till June 2028.
