Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal has reportedly agreed a new six-year deal with the Catalan giants. As reported by Football.Espana, the 17-year-old will sign another deal with the Blaugrana next summer even though he only recently signed a new contract.
Yamal signed his last contract extension with Barcelona when he was 16 and agreed on a three-year deal until the summer of 2026. It was then reported that Barca would hand him a new deal when he turned 18.
It has now been reported that the La Liga giants are looking to tie the gifted youngster down with a six-year deal. The European Championship 2024 winner with Spain will reportedly sign the deal following his 18th birthday on July 13.
It remains unclear whether Yamal's new six-year deal will be from the end of his current contract or from the time of his extension. In the first case, the deal will be until 2032 and for the latter, it will be until 2031.
Regardless of whether Yamal commits to them until 2031 or 2032, it will be a huge boost for Barcelona. The winger is regarded as one of the finest young players on the planet and is already a key player for his side.
The teenager has been excellent for high-flyers Barcelona under Hansi Flick this campaign, recording six goals and eight assists in 16 appearances across competitions.
Yamal has already made 67 senior appearances for the Blaugrana, contributing 13 goals and 17 assists. He has also been capped 17 times for Spain and has three goals and nine assists for La Roja.
