Barcelona are preparing to face Celta Vigo in LaLiga at the Balaidos on Saturday, November 23. Hansi Flick's team have won 11 and lost two league games this season and are at the top of the league table after 13 games.

Meanwhile, Barca have received a boost in their efforts to sign Viktor Gyokeres in 2025. Elsewhere, Sevilla are planning to prise Ansu Fati away from Camp Nou in January.

On that note, let's look at the major Barcelona transfer stories from November 18, 2024.

Viktor Gyokeres has hinted that he could leave Sporting CP next year. The Swedish forward is attracting attention from suitors across Europe after exploding into the scenes with the Portuguese club.

Gyokeres registered 43 goals and 15 assists from 50 games across competitions last season. He has continued that form this campaign, amassing 23 goals and four assists from 18 games in all competitions.

Barcelona are pleased with his efforts and have apparently identified the 26-year-old as Robert Lewandowski's potential successor. The Polish striker has been in red-hot form this season but will turn 37 next August.

Speaking recently, as cited by Fabrizio Romano, Gyokeres claimed that he won't be leaving Sporting in the winter.

“I want to finish this season at Sporting. I love it here. New club? We will see when the time comes. I want to play, that’s crucial… and there will be also other factors,” said Gyokeres.

With former Sporting manager Ruben Amorim taking charge at Manchester United last week, the Red Devils could be the favorites in this race next summer.

Sevilla want Ansu Fati

Ansu Fati's future remains uncertain
Ansu Fati's future remains uncertain

Sevilla are ready to hand Ansu Fati a chance to get his career back on track in January, according to Fichajes. The Spanish forward, once hailed as Lionel Messi's heir at Barcelona, is now a forgotten man at Camp Nou.

Fati is no longer a first-team regular under Hansi Flick and has registered just seven appearances across competitions this season. Only one of them has been a start, and the LaLiga giants are losing patience with his fitness woes.

Sevilla are keeping a close eye on his situation and are eager to prise him away in the winter. The Andalusian club are convinced that a change in environment can help the 21-year-old improve his fitness and get back to his best.

Barcelona could be open to his departure in January.

Catalans plan Wojciech Szczesny renewal

According to MARCA, Barcelona are planning to hand Wojciech Szczesny a new deal. The Polish goalkeeper came out of retirement to join the club in October this year, following Marc-Andre ter Stegen's knee injury.

The German custodian isn't expected to play again this season and Barca have added Szczesny to the squad as his replacement. The 34-year-old is yet to make an appearance for the LaLiga giants, with Inaki Pena deputizing for ter Stegen so far.

However, Barcelona are pleased with the player's attitude in the backroom. While the goalkeeper situation remains a tender issue at Camp Nou, both Deco and Hansi Flick are convinced that having three goalkeepers will be beneficial for the club.

As such, they are considering extending Szczesny's stay beyond his current contract, which expires at the end of this season.
