Barcelona are preparing to face Real Madrid at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium on Sunday, January 12, in the Supercopa de Espana final. This will be the season's second El Clasico, with Hansi Flick's team previously securing a 4-0 win over Los Blancos last October.

Meanwhile, the Catalans will have to break the bank to sign Viktor Gyokeres this summer. Elsewhere, the LaLiga giants are not the only club eyeing an Aston Villa striker.

On that note, let's look at the major Barcelona transfer stories from January 10, 2025.

Barcelona learn Viktor Gyokeres price

Barcelona will have to pay €70-75m to secure the services of Viktor Gyokeres this summer, according to SPORT. The Catalans are looking for Robert Lewandowski's successor and reportedly have their eyes on the Swedish ace.

Gyokeres has been on fire for Sporting this season, registering 31 goals and six assists from 29 games across competitions. Meanwhile, Lewandowski has also been in inspired form this campaign, scoring 25 times in 26 outings.

However, the Pole will turn 37 in August and the LaLiga giants are already preparing for the future. Gyokeres has been identified as an option for the job, but prising him away from Sporting won't be easy.

The 26-year-old is under contract with the Portuguese club until 2028. They are willing to let him go at the end of this season, but only for the aforementioned price, which could be an issue for Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich and Manchester United are reportedly hot on his heels as well. Interestingly, former Sporting manager Ruben Amorim's presence at Old Trafford could be an advantage for the Red Devils in the race.

Catalans face competition for Jhon Duran

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have entered the race to sign Jhon Duran, according to Caught Offside. The Colombian striker has scored 12 goals in 26 games for Aston Villa this season, seven of which were starts.

Barcelona are among the clubs interested in signing the 21-year-old, but the interest from the Parisians could pose a problem to their plans. Villa could be willing to let him go this month for £60m, which is likely to put him beyond the Catalans' reach.

The LaLiga giants want a new face to cover for Robert Lewandowski and eventually replace the Pole. Meanwhile, PSG are looking for a new striker as well amid Randal Kolo Muani's uncertain future, and have their eyes on Duran. Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Napoli are said to be hot on his heels as well.

Juventus yet to agree Ronald Araujo deal

Juventus are yet to agree a deal with Barcelona for the services of Ronald Araujo, according to journalist Gerard Romero. Recent reports have suggested that the Uruguayan is on his way to Turin after the two clubs agreed to a deal.

Araujo has made just one appearance for the Catalans this season after missing the start of the term due to injury. He is no longer indispensable for the LaLiga giants, who have a settled center-back pairing of Pau Cubarsi and Inigo Martinez.

Meanwhile, Araujo's contract expires in 2026 and Barcelona could look to cash in on him to address their poor finances. While Juventus may not have struck a deal yet, they reportedly have a genuine interest in the 25-year-old.
