Barcelona travel to the Balaidos on Saturday, November 23, to face Celta Vigo in the league. Hansi Flick's team are leading the LaLiga title race after 13 games.
Meanwhile, Lamine Yamal will sign a new deal at Camp Nou next year. Elsewhere, the Catalan giants have set their sights on a German defender.
On that note, let's look at the major Barcelona transfer stories from November 23, 2024.
Lamine Yamal set for blockbuster renewal
Lamine Yamal will sign a massive new contract with Barcelona once he turns 18 next year, according to El Chiringuito. The teenager is a first-team regular for Barca, already registering 67 appearances across competitions.
However, Spanish laws only allow him to sign a professional contract once he turns 18, which will be next July. Yamal is already generating attention from clubs across Europe thanks to his spectacular rise at Camp Nou.
The LaLiga giants reportedly rejected a massive offer from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for the player this summer. Barcelona are now eager to end any speculation regarding his future and have everything planned.
The new six-year contract will tie him down to the club until 2031 and include a massive release clause. It will also hand him a significant pay hike.
Previous reports have already stated that the player has a verbal agreement with Barcelona, via his agent Jorge Mendes, regarding a renewal. The Spaniard is settled at Camp Nou and has no desire to leave at the moment.
Barcelona eyeing Jonathan Tah
Barcelona are working to bring Jonathan Tah to Camp Nou next summer, according to Fichajes. The German defender has entered the final year of his contract with Bayer Leverkusen and hasn't agreed to a new deal yet.
Multiple clubs are monitoring his situation, including Barca and Real Madrid. Tah is highly rated in the European circuit after helping Leverkusen to a league and cup double last season. He could be a leader at the back for Hansi Flick.
However, the 28-year-old's arrival will raise questions about Ronald Araujo's continuity at the club. The Uruguayan has long been linked with an exit, and his departure could also help Barcelona raise funds to address their finances.
Araujo has yet to kick a ball under Hansi Flick, who is apparently open to his exit.
Barca not planning Inigo Martinez's renewal
According to MARCA, Barcelona are actively looking to renew Inigo Martinez's contract. The Spanish defender has been at the top of his game this season and has been an integral part of the club's backline this season.
Martinez has registered 16 appearances across competitions, all of which were starts, and has also chipped in with two goals and two assists. The 33-year-old's contract with Barca expires at the end of this campaign.
His deal, interestingly, will be automatically renewed if he appears for 60 percent of the club's games this season for at least 45 minutes. The Spaniard has missed just one game this campaign and his renewal option is likely to be triggered next year.
However, the LaLiga giants will not rush the process, as the player's €12m annual wage is a problem. Should Martinez continue to be indispensable for Hansi Flick, he is likely to stay for another year.
If not, Barcelona will decide at the end of the season. They could also hand him a new deal with reduced or performance-based incentives.
