Barcelona are putting together final preparations ahead of their game against Barbastro at the Estadio Municipal on Saturday, January 4, in the Copa del Rey. Hansi Flick's team ended 2025 with two consecutive defeats against Leganes and Atletico Madrid in the league.

Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford is ready to join the Catalans. Elsewhere, the Spanish giants are interested in a Bayern Munich full-back.

On that note, let's look at the major Barcelona transfer stories from January 3, 2025.

Marcus Rashford wants Camp Nou move

Marcus Rashford has his heart set on a move to Camp Nou, according to journalist Alex Crook. The English forward has fallen out of favor under new Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim.

Rashford scored the first goal of the Amorim era but hasn't featured in the starting XI since their Europa League win against Viktoria Plzen in early December. The player has divided opinion among fans as well, following a series of unconvincing performances in the past 18 months.

Rashford is apparently considering his options at the moment, with the Red Devils also open to his departure. While there's rising interest in his services, the 27-year-old reportedly prefers to join Barcelona to get his career back on track.

Rashford rose through the ranks at Manchester United and was once considered one of the brightest young talents in the land. While he hasn't lived up to expectations, the player could still be a decent option for the LaLiga giants. However, he may have to take a pay cut to script a move to the Camp Nou.

Barcelona eyeing Alphonso Davies

Barcelona are considering a move for Alphonso Davies this year, according to journalist Jorge Picon. The Canadian's contract with Bayern Munich expires at the end of this season, and he is yet to commit his future to the club.

Real Madrid are reportedly hot on his heels, but the Catalans appear to have entered the race as well. Hansi Flick apparently wants to bolster the left-back position, with Alejandro Balde the only option at his disposal at the moment.

Davies has all the prerequisites to be successful at the Camp Nou, but the club's poor finances could pose a threat to a deal. Manchester United and Liverpool are apparently in the race as well.

Dani Olmo wants to stay

Dani Olmo's future remain unclear

Dani Olmo's agent Andy Bara has insisted that the player is not considering a departure from the Camp Nou at the moment. The Spaniard's future has been thrown up in the air amid Barcelona's struggles to register him this month.

Olmo rejoined the Catalans from RB Leipzig last summer, but could only be registered until December 31 due to their poor financial situation. The issue hasn't been sorted yet, adding to speculation regarding his future.

Recent reports have suggested that the player could leave for free if he isn't registered in the coming days. The 26-year-old is proven in the European circuit, and Arsenal have been named as a possible destination.

However, speaking to acclaimed journalist Fabrizio Romano, Bara insisted that his client wants to stay.

“The decision made by Dani is to stay at Barcelona as he wants to play for Barca. We are not considering any other option. Dani wants to play for Barcelona,” said Bara

Olmo has registered six goals and one assist from 15 games under Hansi Flick this season.
