Barcelona are preparing to face Athletic Club in the Supercopa de Espana semifinal on Wednesday, January 8, at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium. Hansi Flick's team arrive at the game buoyed by the 4-0 win over Barbastro on Saturday, January 4, in the Copa del Rey.

Meanwhile, Pablo Torres is not planning to leave Camp Nou at the moment. Elsewhere, AC Milan have set their sights on Dani Olmo.

On that note, let's look at the major Barcelona transfer stories from January 6, 2025.

Pablo Torre has no desire to leave Barcelona at the moment, according to SPORT. The 21-year-old has been quite impressive with the senior side this season, registering four goals and three assists from 10 games across competitions.

His contract at Camp Nou expires in under 18 months, adding to speculation regarding his future. Torre has been linked with an exit from the Catalans of late, with the player not a guaranteed starter under Hansi Flick.

However, the Spaniard is ready to stay and fight for his place in the team. Torre is aware of the intense competition for places at Barcelona but remains determined to succeed with the club.

AC Milan are ready to Dani Olmo on a six-month loan, according to SPORT. The Spaniard is staring at an uncertain future at the moment, with Barcelona yet to secure his registration for the rest of the campaign.

Olmo joined the Catalans last summer, but the club could only afford to register him until the end of 2024. As things stand, the 26-year-old could be free to leave the LaLiga giants unless he is registered with the league.

Olmo would like to stay at Barcelona but is now considering his options. He has the option to terminate his contract but is not considering that route just yet.

The Rossoneri are now proposing a loan deal that could suit all parties involved. AC Milan would be able to afford the player's wages until the end of the season and Olmo could secure regular football at the San Siro.

Wojciech Szczesny finally made his debut for Barcelona on Saturday, against Barbastro in the Copa del Rey Round of 32. The Pole marked the occasion with a clean sheet, helping the Catalans register a 4-0 win.

Szczesny initially hung up his boots last summer after terminating his contract with Juventus. However, he opted to come out of retirement to help the LaLiga giants deal with Marc-Andre ter Stegen's injury. The 34-year-old was on the bench since his arrival in October, with Inaki Pena the preferred option between the sticks, before making the cut last weekend.

After the game, as cited by SPORT, Szczesny insisted that he was relieved after earning his debut.

“I feel happy and relieved. It’s one of those games in which you don’t want to make a mistake in your debut and you want to approach the game with the right attitude. I was excited for my debut and the way they played has made my job a lot easier,” said Szczesny.

The player is under contract with the LaLiga giants until the end of this season.
