Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is reportedly set to be the subject of a transfer tug-of-war between Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique Marseille. The English attacker's future has been constantly under speculation amid an inconsistent run of form at Old Trafford.

TEAMtalk reports that Rashford could depart United in January, and PSG is in the race to sign him. The Parisians hold a long-term interest in the 26-year-old, who has just over three years left on his contract.

Bayern are also monitoring the situation despite signing Michael Olise from Crystal Palace in the summer. Marseille are an intriguing observer given Rashford could reunite with former Manchester United teammate Mason Greenwood.

If Rashford were to make the move to Bayern, he would also link up with two familiar faces. England captain Harry Kane and defender Eric Dier play under Vincent Kompany at the Allianz Arena.

Should Manchester United sanction Rashford's departure, he's also expected to receive interest from the Premier League. He's started this season with four goals and three assists in 12 games across competitions.

That said, the club's co-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, hopes Rashford will soon return to his best. He was one of Europe's most potent goalscorers two seasons ago, with 30 goals and 11 assists in 56 games across competitions.7

Manchester United would consider extending Rashford's contract terms beyond the summer of 2027. He's been with his boyhood club his entire career, breaking onto the scene almost a decade ago.

Rashford was one of four glaring omissions from Gareth Southgate's England squad for Euro 2024. He came off a disappointing season, managing just eight goals and six assists in 43 games across competitions.

The 60-cap Three Lions international has been present at every major international competition since debuting in May 2016. He's been excellent for his nation, bagging 17 goals and six assists.

The Athletic reports that England captain Kane expressed his concerns to Southgate over omitting Rashford from his squad. He and others were also worried that similar experienced names, like Jordan Henderson and Jack Grealish, missed out.

This reported conversation came before Euro 2024, where the Three Lions finished runners-up in Germany. It was the second successive European Championships the 1966 World Cup winners had stuttered in a final.

Southgate has since left the job, and Kane's former Bayern boss, Thomas Tuchel, is his permanent successor. The German tactician starts in January, and Rashford will be eager to impress the new manager and earn a recall.
