Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has reportedly given the green light to a potential exit of Ronald Araujo amid interest from Bayern Munich. As reported by Spanish outlet El Nacional, the Bavarian giants have already reached out to the Uruguay international's representatives.
Araujo is regarded as one of the best defenders in Europe and has been a key player for Barca over the last few years. The 25-year-old has been heavily linked with a switch to Bayern Munich in recent years but a move failed to materialize.
However, things have drastically changed this season thanks to Pau Cubarsi's rise to the top and Inigo Martinez's showings. In the absence of Araujo with a hamstring injury, the two have formed an excellent defensive pairing, helping Barcelona top the La Liga table.
It is understood that Barca are now considering the possibility of letting Araujo depart if they receive a lucrative fee. The Catalan giants are yet to fully recover from their financial mess and cashing in on Araujo could help the club's finances.
It has been claimed that Bayern Munich would need to make an offer of at least €50 million for Araujo's signature. The Uruguayan has made 150 appearances for Barcelona till date, winning three trophies during his time at Camp Nou.
Barcelona to face competition from Bayern Munich for Ligue 1 attacker: Reports
Barcelona are reportedly set to face strong competition from Bayern Munich for the signature of Lille attacker Jonathan David. As reported by reputed journalist Florian Plettenberg, the two European giants could go head-to-head for the Canada international's signature.
David has entered the final year of his contract with Les Dogues and looks destined to leave on a free next summer. The 24-year-old has a long list of admirers across Europe thanks to his exploits for Lille in the last few seasons.
The Canadian has been one of the best strikers in Ligue 1 since his switch to Stade Pierre-Mauroy in 2020 from Gent. He has scored 97 goals and provided 20 assists in 202 appearances for Lille, helping them win two trophies including Ligue 1 title in 2020-21.
David has been on fire this season with 13 goals and two assists in 19 appearances across competitions. His form has reportedly attracted interest from Bayern Munich, with Vincent Kompany looking to add more firepower to his attack. Barcelona, on the other hand, reportedly view David as the long-term successor of Robert Lewandowski.
