Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly picked 25-year-old forward Brahim Diaz as a potential trump card in the Los Blancos attack. The Morocco international, on his part, is focused on building and maintaining prominence under the Italian manager in 2025.

The Real Madrid attacking trident has often consisted of Vinicius Jr, Kylian Mbappe and Rodrygo Goes this season. However, regular injuries and substitutions have provided Brahim Diaz with some playing time.

This season, he has played 17 games across competitions, scoring two goals and providing three assists. However, he has started just eight games. This could change in the coming year, with a report from Mundo Deportivo (via Madrid Universal) revealing Carlo Ancelotti's plans for Diaz.

According to the report, the manager recognizes the Moroccan as an all-rounder, who can impress in any area of the attack he is placed in. This could lead to more minutes for Diaz, who is reportedly working to maintain his manager's faith in him. The forward is hoping for this to translate to more game time and starting minutes in the new year.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti speaks about superstar's return to form

Carlo Ancelotti spoke about Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe's return to form, ahead of their 4-2 win over Sevilla at the Santiago Bernabeu on December 22.

Mbappe scored a goal and provided an assist in that game, with the Frenchman picking up six-goal contributions in his last six games across all competitions. This impressive output has given Los Blancos some momentum as they head into the Christmas break, and Ancelotti will be pleased.

The manager said to the press ahead of the Sevilla game (via beinSPORTS):

"Self-criticism has made us clear up what we were lacking, which was a bit of a lack of attitude, of collective commitment, of running a bit more. We have gone back to doing things the way we should have done them.
"Mbappe has been self-critical and that's why he has got out of a situation that could have been complicated. His adaptation period is over, and today, he has shown that I, from time to time, am right."

Indeed, Kylian Mbappe struggled to enter goalscoring form at the Santiago Bernabeu, even going on a spell of four UEFA Champions League games without a goal. However, his numbers are fairly remarkable as he has now scored 13 goals and provided three assists in 23 games across competitions.
