Chelsea are reportedly eyeing a move for Borussia Dortmund attacker Karim Adeyemi, who has previously been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool. The Merseyside giants reportedly view the Germany international as the long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah but could now face competition from Enzo Maresca's side.
As reported by Football Insider journalist Pete O’Rourke, Chelsea have set their sights on Adeyemi for the next summer. However, they must part ways with a few players if they have to sign the 22-year-old, as they already have a stacked squad.
Adeyemi is a versatile attacker who is equally adept on either flank as well as a number nine. However, the young attacker has not quite been an undisputed success since his reported €38 million switch from Red Bull Salzburg in 2022.
He has scored 19 goals and provided 13 assists in 74 appearances for the BVB so far. However, the German attacker has impressed with five goals and five assists in eight games this season.
Liverpool reportedly have a long-standing interest in Adeyemi, who they consider a perfect replacement for Mohamed Salah. The Merseyside giants could lose their talisman next summer, with his current deal at Anfield expiring.
Salah has been pivotal to the Reds' success over the years following his reported £34 million switch from AS Roma in 2017. The Egyptian superstar has scored 219 goals and provided 96 assists in 363 appearances for Liverpool, winning eight trophies in the process.
Salah's future has been up in the air for months now with the Reds yet to secure a breakthrough in contract talks with the Egyptian. Should the Egyptian King depart next summer, replacing him will be a huge task for Arne Slot.
Chelsea, on the other hand, have a host of options in almost every position, including the attack. The Blues must sell a few players if they have to accommodate Adeyemi in their squad.
Real Madrid could part ways with Liverpool and Chelsea target: Reports
Real Madrid could reportedly be ready to offload midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni following their 4-0 LaLiga defeat to arch-rivals Barcelona. Los Blancos fell to a humiliating defeat at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday (October 26), with Tchouameni struggling to impress.
Tchouameni has been a key player for Real Madrid since joining the Spanish capital club in 2022 from AS Monaco in a reported €100 million deal. The defensive midfielder reportedly snubbed Liverpool and opted to join Carlo Ancelotti's side.
As claimed by Spanish outlet Fichajes.net, Real Madrid have decided to sell the 24-year-old after his poor showing against Barcelona. He has been linked with a move to Chelsea and Liverpool and has been reportedly slapped with a €90 million price tag.
Tchouameni has won seven trophies during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu, including one Champions League and one La Liga title. He has made 102 appearances for Los Blancos so far, having contributed with three goals and five assists.
