Chelsea have reportedly put in a bid for Boca Juniors defender Aaron Anselmino, who has also attracted interest from Real Madrid and Manchester United. The Blues are looking to strengthen their defense this summer and see the youngster as a target.
Anselmino came through Boca Juniors academy and made his senior debut only last year. However, multiple injury issues have restricted to him to just 10 senior appearances so far. The 19-year-old has impressed regardless, earning praise from Boca Juniors president Juan Roman Riquelme.
"He has developed a lot. With the growth, the head that he has and the desire to learn that he shows, he is on his way to being a great footballer. He is going to be a player for the national team. He is going to compete with the centre-backs," Riquelme said (via Goal).
As per journalist Uriel Lugt (via Goal), Chelsea have submitted a bid worth around £13.4 million to sign Anselmino this summer. They are prepared to offer him a four-year contract. They are looking to strengthen their defense following Thiago Silva's departure. Moreover, Trevoh Chalobah's future is also under speculation.
However, the Blues will have to compete with Manchester United and Real Madrid for Anselmino's signature this summer, as per Football365.
Chelsea the frontrunners for Michael Olise's signature: Reports
As per Foot Mercato (via Goal), Chelsea are the frontrunners in the race to sign Michael Olise this summer.
The winger has been excellent for Crystal Palace since arriving from Reading in 2021. He has scored 16 goals and provided 25 assists in 90 games for the Eagles. His performances have seen the likes of Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and Newcastle United all interested in signing him.
However, as per the aforementioned report, Chelsea lead the race as they are prepared to pay out his release clause worth €70 million. United consider the clause too expensive.
Interestingly, though, Crystal Palace have offered Olise a new improved contract, as per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. If he signs the new contract, his value is likely to skyrocket. His current deal expires in the summer of 2027.
