Chelsea has joined Liverpool in the race to sign Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to a report by TEAMtalk. The left-back has been brilliant this season and this has put him on the radar of top Premier League giants.
An overview of Chelsea's left-back position could reveal that Ben Chilwell and Marc Cucurella are present options. However, Chilwell has struggled to remain fit in recent times, registering just one appearance for Chelsea across all competitions this season.
Chilwell's fitness concern has left the Blues with only one option in the left-back position. This could be why the Blue's hierarchy might be looking to sign Ait-Nouri.
On the other hand, Andrew Robertson is Liverpool's first-choice option at left-back while Konstantinos Tsimikas is his replacement. The Red's hierarchy are currently negotiating a contract extension with Robertson, with his current deal set to expire in June 2026.
Liverpool's interest in signing Ait-Nouri could be linked to enhancing the depth in the left-back position.
In the 2024-25 campaign, Ait-Nouri has been impressive despite his team's poor start to the season. The 23-year-old has netted three goals and registered two assists in 11 appearances for Wolves.
Chelsea are also interested in signing Karim Adeyemi - Reports
Chelsea are also interested in signing Karim Adeyemi, according to a report by Caught Offside. However, the Blues will have to offload some players for the deal to go through.
Adeyemi is a versatile player who features primarily as a left-winger for Borussia Dortmund. He could also feature as a striker and a right-winger when necessary.
The 22-year-old has had a decent start to the 2024-25 campaign, scoring five and providing five assists in eight games for the Dortmund outfit. The German international could be a decent addition in attack for Enzo Maresca in attack if he's signed.
However, the Blues have some work to do as Adeyemi is reportedly viewed as a replacement for Mohamed Salah by Liverpool. The Egyptian forward will become a free agent in 2025 and could exit Anfield.
Adeyemi is currently contracted to Borrusia Dortmund until 2027, which means he is unlikely to be a cheap option for any of the interested parties.
