Chelsea make transfer stance known on striker

Chelsea are reportedly not willing to let French forward Christopher Nkunku leave this summer, according to a report by journalist Ben Jacobs. The player is currently the subject of transfer interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

Nkunku has struggled for game time this season under Enzo Maresca. There are fears that he may seek a move elsewhere in a bid to secure regular minutes. At age 27, the Frenchman is currently in his prime years as a footballer and doesn't fancy playing second fiddle to first-choice striker Nicolas Jackson.

Nkunku has so far played a total of 1090 minutes of football action this season, with a large portion of that coming in the UEFA Europa Conference League. French giants PSG are believed to be interested in signing the Chelsea forward this summer and giving him a more prominent role.

However, journalist Jacobs has revealed that the Blues do not intend to sell the striker this winter. He added that any move away from Chelsea this January would have to be driven by Nkunku himself, as the club want to keep hold of him.

Despite not getting the opportunity to lead the Blues' attack on a regular basis, Nkunku is currently Chelsea's second-highest goal-scorer this season. The 27-year-old has scored 12 goals in 27 games across all competitions during the ongoing 2024-25 football campaign.

Italian club offers €10 million for Chelsea midfielder

Just like Nkunku, Blues' midfielder Cesare Casadei is the subject of a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer. The 21-year-old midfielder has also struggled for regular game time this season under Maresca and has been limited to playing in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

Recent reports by journalist Alex Crook suggested that Serie A club Torino have offered a fee in the region of €10 million for the former Inter Milan academy product. However, it is believed that the bid was outrightly rejected by Chelsea, who are said to be holding out for around €15 million.

Casadei joined the Blues in the summer of 2022 from Inter Milan for a transfer fee in the region of €15 million plus an additional €5 million in add-ons. The youngster hasn't been able to nail down a starting shirt with the club's first team and could be allowed to leave this winter.
