Chelsea and Manchester United are reportedly in a three-horse race with Newcastle United to sign German midfielder Felix Nmecha. The 24-year-old is currently playing for Borussia Dortmund and his contract with the Bundesliga side is valid until the summer of 2028.
Felix Nmecha arrived at Borussia Dortmund from VfL Wolfsburg on a five-year contract in 2023 for a reported fee of about £25 million. The signing was met with criticism after the Manchester City academy graduate registered only two goals and two assists in 29 appearances for the German club last season.
However, things changed for the better for Nmecha, who has been impressive in this ongoing campaign and has become a key part of Nuri Şahin's squad. Now German tabloid Bild has reported that Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle United are keen on signing the midfielder, with Borussia Dortmund expected to charge a massive fee for him.
Manchester United, who have been looking to make additions to their midfield for a while, are reportedly keeping tabs on Felix Nmecha. He can be a potential replacement for 32-year-old Casemiro whose contract with the Red Devils is set to expire in the summer of 2026.
Newcastle United's reported interest in Nmecha comes with the Magpies' midfielder Bruno Guimaraes being heavily linked with a move to Manchester City. Chelsea, on the other hand, are keen on bringing the German star to Stamford Bridge to further strengthen their squad.
Felix Nmecha has recorded three goals and two assists in 18 appearances across competitions for Borussia Dortmund so far this season. It remains to be seen if the German midfielder decides to make a move away from the Bundesliga side and which of the Premier League clubs manages to acquire his signature.
Chelsea and Manchester United reportedly interested in signing 18-year-old Brazilian prodigy
Chelsea are reportedly set to race Manchester United to sign Brazilian prodigy Lorran. The 18-year-old is currently playing for Flamengo and his contract there is valid until Dec 31, 2029.
Lorran is currently estimated at €12 million, however, the fee could increase if he decides to make a move to Europe, according to TuttoMercatoWeb (via The Hard Tackle).
The young attacking midfielder started his senior career with Flamengo in 2023 and has netted two goals and three assists in 31 appearances across competitions for the Brazillian club so far. With the reported interest from the Premier League giants, Lorran can be a great long-term investment for both sides.
No official announcement about this potential transfer has been made from either clubs or the player as of yet.
