Chelsea and Real Madrid are reportedly set to battle Manchester United for the signature of Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies. As reported by Express Sport, the Red Devils will face competition from Enzo Maresca and Carlo Ancelotti's sides for the Canada international's signature.
Davies' deal at Bayern Munich expires in the summer of 2025, putting the Bavarian giants in a tight corner. The Bundesliga giants have reportedly made several futile attempts to tie their star full-back down with a new deal.
Manchester United have reportedly contacted Davies' representatives regarding a potential switch. However, Real Madrid and Chelsea are also understood to be keen on the pacey left-back.
The left-back has been a problematic position for Manchester United for a while now, with both Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia battling injury problems. Real Madrid, on the other hand, have been long-term admirers of Davies and view him as a big target for the future.
Chelsea, on the other hand, have Marc Cucurella as their first-choice left-back while Renato Veiga has also been used in the position. Enzo Maresca does not seem to fancy Ben Chilwell and has used him only in the League Cup this campaign.
Alphonso Davies, 23, has been a key player for Bayern Munich since joining the Bavarian side in 2019 from Vancouver Whitecaps FC. He has made 205 appearances for the Bundesliga giants, scoring 11 goals and providing 32 assists while winning 11 trophies.
