Chelsea have reportedly received an offer from Serie A side Torino for their young midfielder Cesare Casadei. As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio via the Chelsea Chronicle, the Turin-based club are looking to sign the 21-year-old permanently.
It has been claimed that the Serie A side will include a buy-back clause for the Blues to sweeten the deal. However, they face competition from their domestic rivals Lazio for the young midfielder's signature.
Casadei has struggled for opportunities at Stamford Bridge this season having only featured six times across competitions. He has yet to play in the Premier League this season and has only been used in the UEFA Europa Conference League and EFL Cup.
The Italian midfielder joined Chelsea in the summer of 2022 from Inter Milan in a deal worth a reported €15 million, plus €5 million in add-ons. He had loan spells with Reading and Leicester City before returning to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Incidentally, Casadei played under Enzo Maresca last season while on loan at Leicester City helping the Foxes win promotion to the Premier League. He made 25 appearances for the Championship winners scoring thrice and providing two assists.
Blessed with a frame of 6 ft 4 in, Casadei is also excellent technically. He is capable of playing either as a No. 6 or a No. 8 and even higher up the pitch.
Chelsea ready to battle Real Madrid and Manchester United for Premier League defender: Reports
Chelsea have reportedly joined the race to sign Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen, who is enjoying an excellent debut season for the Cherries. As reported by Simon Philips via Caught Offside, the Blues are closely monitoring the 19-year-old.
Huijsen has been a major hit at Dean Court following his reported €15.2 million move from Juventus in the summer. The Spanish-Dutch defender has made 14 appearances across competitions for Andoni Iraola's side and has caught the eye of European elites.
Chelsea have six central defenders in their ranks although Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile are out with injuries. The other four options are Levi Colwill, Axel Disasi, Tosin Adarabioyo, and Renato Veiga.
Manchester United and Real Madrid are also both reportedly interested in the young defender as they look to bolster their backlines. Huijsen is capped at youth level for both the Netherlands and Spain and can opt to represent either country.
