Renato Veiga has forced clubs across Europe to take note following his impressive form with Chelsea this season, according to Fichajes.net. The Blues reportedly paid FC Basel £12m for the Portuguese this summer.
Veiga has already appeared 16 times across competitions for the London giants this season, 10 of which have been starts. He has been an omnipresent face in the Conference League and EFL Cup for Chelsea, but has just one start in the Premier League.
Nevertheless, his efforts have caught the attention of multiple clubs across the continent. The 21-year-old has mostly operated as a left-back for the Blues, but he has also been deployed as a center back and in midfield at times.
The player's versatility has endeared him to his suitors. The London giants are likely to receive offers to send him out on loan, which will suit the club.
While Veiga is highly rated at Stamford Bridge, he is not a first-team regular under Enzo Maresca yet. A temporary move away from Chelsea could offer him a chance at regular football and work wonders for his development.
The Portuguese is under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2031 and the Blues have him firmly in their plans for the future. However, both the club and the player's camp are open to the idea of a loan exit. As such, Veiga could be on his way out of London, albeit temporarily, in January.
Will Chelsea sign a new No. 9 in 2025?
Chelsea are likely to invest in a new No. 9 in 2025, despite Nicolas Jackson's resurgent form. The Blues were very close to securing the services of Victor Osimhen this summer, but failed to get a deal across the line.
The Blues could revisit their interest in the Nigerian - who is currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli - in the winter. However, the player has already stated that he will stay with the Turkish side for the rest of the season (via GOAL).
Enzo Maresca has apparently made a new striker one of his priorities for next summer and isn't averse to the idea of signing one in January. Recent reports have suggested that Chelsea have set their sights on Ipswich Town's Liam Delap.
The 21-year-old has been quite impressive of late, prompting the Blues to reach out to the East Anglian club. However, Ipswich are embroiled in a relegation battle and have no desire to let him go in January either.
