Reigning Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen have reportedly approached Chelsea star Axel Disasi to find out the possibility of signing him in January. The France international is on the radar of several sides in Europe after failing to nail down a regular starting berth at Stamford Bridge this season.
Disasi was on the pitch from the start as Chelsea played out a goalless draw against Everton at Goodison Park playing at right-back. The Frenchman made his 14th appearance of the campaign and only his fourth in the Premier League this season.
Journalist Sacha Tavolieri has reported that Axel Disasi is wanted by Bayer Leverkusen, who are preparing for life after Jonathan Tah. The German defender is set to leave the club once his contract expires in the summer and may even move in January if an offer arrives.
Xabi Alonso's side have identified 26-year-old Disasi as a player to replace Tah and are prepared to offer him a deal. The Frenchman has spent just 18 months on the books of the English side, who signed him from AS Monaco in the summer of 2023.
Enzo Maresca had Disasi as part of his second-string group that played in the UEFA Europa Conference League and Carabao Cup in the first half of the season. Injuries to Benoit Badiashile and Wesley Fofana in recent weeks, however, have created room for the Frenchman to fight his way back into the plans of the coach.
Bayer Leverkusen may need to pay more than the £38.5 million Chelsea paid Monaco for Disasi in 2023 for the five-cap France international. The Blues may be happy to let him leave, particularly with Josh Acheampong available and Aaron Anselmino returning to the club in 2025.
Former Chelsea star Oscar set to complete return to former club - Reports
Former Chelsea midfielder Oscar is set to complete a switch to his former club Sao Paulo after spending eight years in the Chinese Super League. A report from Goal has indicated that the former Brazil international is prepared to return to Brazil for the first time since 2012.
Oscar left Sao Paulo for Internacional in 2010 before joining Chelsea just two years later in 2012. The tenacious midfielder was on the books of the Blues for five years, making 203 appearances and winning the UEFA Europa League, Premier League, and League Cup titles.
Oscar made 248 appearances in seven years at Shanghai Port in China, winning three league titles with the club. The 33-year-old had a tearful farewell at the end of his spell, and will now join Sao Paulo as a free agent in January.
