Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr are reportedly looking to replace left-back Alex Telles with another foreign option this summer. This would be a huge blow to the 31-year-old's career, who still has a year left on his contract with the Saudi Pro League side (@ByanNassr).
The Brazilian full-back's career seems to have gone downhill since he completed a move to Manchester United in the summer of 2020 for a reported €18 million. Things didn't go to plan, as the defender was loaned out for the entirety of the 2022/23 campaign to Sevilla after unconvincing campaigns at Old Trafford.
Following his loan deal, Telles signed a reported £4 million contract exclusive of add-ons with Al-Nassr in the summer of 2023. He only made 50 appearances for the Red Devils, bagging a goal and seven assists across competitions.
However, the Brazilian was used quite a bit during his first year in the Saudi Pro League. Last season, he started 26 of his 28 appearances in the Saudi Arabian top flight, bagging two goals and four assists.
Despite that, it seems as though Telles' current employers aren't quite satisfied with his performances. It remains to be seen where the left-back ends up if he's to leave the club this summer.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola urges Ederson to stay at Etihad, amid links to Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr
Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson has been linked with a move to Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr in recent days. However, it looks as though the asking price for the shot-stopper, who has two years left on his deal, maybe too much for the Saudi Arabian club.
Regardless, Cityzens boss Pep Guardiola has made a plea to the Brazil international to remain at the Etihad Stadium. He said (via Bola VIP):
"I wish with all my heart that Eddie stays with us. I would love him to stay. I can't imagine our successes over the past seasons without him. He is a key figure in the dressing room."
While Ederson said he was happy listening to Guardiola's comments, the goalkeeper failed to confirm where his future lies. To date, he's made 332 appearances across competitions for Manchester City, keeping 155 clean sheets.
The 30-year-old has lifted the Premier League trophy on six occasions and the UEFA Champions League once, among other honors with the Cityzens so far.
