Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr will reportedly send their delegation to Istanbul to sign Moroccan centre-forward Youssef En-Nesyri. The 27-year-old marksman currently plays for Fenerbahce, having signed for the Turkish giants from Sevilla in 2024 for a reported fee of €19.50 million.
The Fes-born striker had a sluggish start to life at Fenerbahce but slowly picked up pace during his tenure. En-Nesyri has played 24 games for the Turkish giants, registering nine goals and three assists. In his last two games for Sarı Lacivertliler, the Moroccan striker has registered three goals, including goals against Basaksehir and Eyupspor.
As per the latest report by @NFC1World on X, Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr will send delegates to Fenerbahce to conclude the signing of Youssef En-Nesyri.
The Moroccan frontman became famous after scoring a goal in the 2022 FIFA World Cup quarter-final against Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal. After a tightly contested half, En-Nesyri leaped up to head a cross by Yahia Attiyat Allah in the 42nd minute. The ball evaded the goalkeeper and bulged the back of the net.
En-Nesyri's goal turned out to be the only one in the game and eliminated Cristiano Ronaldo's nation from the World Cup.
Al-Nassr's Cristiano Ronaldo claims Saudi Pro League is better than Ligue 1
Al-Nassr superstar Cristiano Ronaldo said that the Saudi Pro League is better than the French League at the Globe Soccer Award ceremony on December 27. The Portuguese superstar joined Al-Nassr on a Bosman move in 2023 after a controversial departure from Manchester United.
Speaking about the Saudi Pro League, Ronaldo commented on how it is difficult to play with the weather draining the players. He said:
“Saudi League is better than Ligue 1, of course. Try to sprint in 38, 39, 40 degree weather and see. Ligue 1 only has PSG. The other teams are finished."
This is not the first time Ronaldo has compared the Saudi League with Ligue 1. The Portuguese superstar compared the two earlier this year, claiming that the former was already better than the French league.
"To be honest, I think the Saudi League is not worse than French league, in my opinion. In [the] French league I think you have two, three teams with a good level. In Saudi now I think it's more competitive.
"They can say whatever they want, it's just my opinion and I played there one year so I know what I'm talking about. But I think right now we are better than [the] French league, we still improve," he said.
Ronaldo won Best Middle East Player of the Year at the Globe Soccer Awards 2024. He was also a finalist for the Men's Player of the Year but it was ultimately awarded to Real Madrid's Vinicius Jr.
